Last night (16 May) at Balmer Lawn Hotel and Spa, Brockenhurst, The Insitiute of Hospitality Southern branch hosted  the Student of the Year Awards.

The Southern Branch must-attend event of the year was held at the stunning Balmer Lawn Hotel, Brockenhurst in the New Forest, Hampshire.

The evening was a celebration of upcoming hospitality talent who are currently in further/higher education or completing a hospitality apprenticeship. The awards celebrate outstanding development within 6 fields in both Front and Back of House.

Congratulations to Millie Healey, Umbrella Training apprentice from Bartley Lodge Hotel, part of the New Forest Hotels who was the runner up in the Apprentice Student of the Year.

Andrew Stembridge FIH, exec director of Iconic Luxury Hotels, gives the opening address. “We’re looking after our people so well right now. The industry has never been so creative and fun as it is now.”

Sam Coulstock FIH, business relations director at Umbrella Training said "So proud to see Millie come along so much since she started her apprenticeship, the impact on her has been admirable.  Being shortlisted and coming runner up is a great achievement."
