Hospitality Zone at Skills London 2018 uses technology to inspire careers
A collective of hospitality organisations teamed up to use the latest technology to inspire the next generation of recruits about the wonderful careers in hospitality during Skills London 2018 (23 and 24 November 2018).

Skills London is the UK’s biggest jobs and careers event for 15-24 year olds, and the hospitality zone, led by elite hospitality apprenticeship provider, Umbrella Training, was interactive and engaging and showcased careers to attendees.
Umbrella Training recently won the Springboard Award for Excellence for the best use of Digital Media to Attract Talent and won best use of Social Media at Skills London.The biggest draw within the zone was the Virtual Reality Hotel, which allowed visitors to explore a variety of employers and their respective departments, and give attendees the opportunity to learn about a range of career and apprenticeship options across the hospitality sector.Representatives from Umbrella Training, The Ritz London, Red Carnation Hotels, Firmdale Hotels, The Goring, Royal Garden Hotel, Georgian House Hotel, Hotel Café Royal, The Strand Palace, Hyatt, Park Plaza, Sarova Hotels and RAF Club were on hand to answer any questions and share their experiences of working in this vibrant sector.
Over the course of two days, 2,000 individuals experience the VR Hotel https://www.umbrellatraining.co.uk/skills-london-2018/ along with an Instagram Social Wall with a Hologram Chefs Hat, a Hospitality Quiz using touch-screen technology and a gateway to careers in hospitality guide, plus The Caterer Check into Hospitality magazine.Sam Coulstock FIH, Business Relations Director at Umbrella Training, said: “It was so inspiring to see hospitality represented so brilliantly at Skills London in 2018.

It is London’s biggest jobs and careers event and attracts over 30,000 visitors and 200 exhibitors.
It provides visitors with the opportunity to discover careers through interactive, inspirational activities and demonstrations, and helps young people visually bridge the gap between what they enjoy doing and what they could potentially do as a career.
