About British Small Business AwardsThe British Small Business Awards event, now in its third year, is the leading celebration of the UK’s small business sector, recognising the nation’s best sole traders, micro businesses and small companies – as well as the services providers and advisers that support them.At the start of 2017, there were an estimated 5.7 million small businesses (defined as those with 0-49 employees) in the UK, accounting for 99.3 per cent of all private sector businesses.

The combined annual turnover of small businesses was £1.9 trillion, 51 per cent of all private sector revenue in the UK.Despite the vast proportion of small businesses among private companies, this vital sector does not get the recognition it deserves. Often described as the ‘engine room of the economy’, it is high time the small business community is commended for its efforts in providing quality products and services to customers and for its significant contribution to Britain’s success. The British Small Business Awards event recognises this need. The third annual ceremony will take place in late 2018 in London. See you there!
