Meet Anja Huettenrauch, Learning and Development Manager at Umbrella training

Joining Umbrella Training enabled Anja to use both her broad range of experiences in the training room and to stay close to her hospitality roots.

Anja says: ‘Having started my own career through a 3-year apprenticeship I fully understand the importance of developing and nurturing talent in the catering industry. An apprentice will gain a combination of real-life experience and a soft skills that will set them apart from others and really paves the way for their future.'

Anja’s experience in hospitality stretches almost 20 years, in which she has worked in many different hospitality businesses from luxury hotels, high street restaurants and cruise ships to organising bespoke events around the globe. Anja has made it her lifelong challenge to develop people to reaching their full potential, which is now still and integral part of her role in the education sector.

Anja’s greatest passion is travelling the world, as she is fascinated by cultures, people and of course food. At times when she can’t add to her stamp collection in her passport, she explores the beautiful English countryside on a motorbike – the only way to travel.
