Meet Jacob Mathew, Learning and Development Manager at Umbrella Training

With more than 12 years’ experience in training and in a huge variety of different hospitality sections including Airlines, Waterparks, Restaurants, Resorts, Hotels and in different countries, Jacob has an amazing capability to create and schedule a significant number of training sessions by understanding the business and learners needs.

Jacob says “The best gift is when you see your apprentice stand on that stage collecting their distinction certificate! Knowing that they have gone through a complete transformation from a novice to an expert is something that cannot be bought but earned by complete dedication and commitment by the apprentice. I love my job and these great moments inspire me to do more. As I always say “Learning never stops!”.

Jacob is personally into maintaining high levels of fitness and is currently finishing his level 3 personal trainer course. He also loves cakes and would do anything for a triple layer chocolate cake! Besides fitness and cake, he loves playing darts and is planning to join his local club.
