Umbrella Training is launching a new culinary school to provide apprentices with access to a professional kitchen environment and further learning and development opportunities.

Launching this month, the Umbrella Training Culinary School will be based at Lakefield Hospitality College in London, and will host a series of apprenticeship clubs and masterclasses where aspiring chefs can develop their skills and knowledge alongside a 12-month apprenticeship programme.

”Whilst a highly qualified person may be able to work independently sooner, an apprentice is often more trainable as they are getting their qualification on the job. As a small business, hiring an apprentice fits in with our budget and there is less risk if we have a period of lower sales. “

The second edition of the Inside Hospitality Survey was conducted between November 2021 and February 2022, capturing the views and experiences from 1016 hospitality workers, from all backgrounds and career levels.

The launch took place OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie, as a breakfast briefing joined by allies, partners, supporters, friends, and other industry leaders.
