End of year reflection - 2020

As 2020 draws to a close, we look forward to the new year and the exciting projects we have planned, of which there are many! Whilst this year brought its challenges, our team has much to celebrate and build on.

We have expanded our provision offering even more apprenticeships to include Learning & Development, Events Assistant and Business and Financial Services Administration, broadening the options available for our business partners old and new.

Watch this space for new developments, as we are in the process of introducing even more programmes into our portfolio over the next 12 months.

Our role as a gateway for the government Kickstart Scheme has got off to a fantastic start, with over 150 business now signed up with Umbrella Training. We look forward to helping even more organisations create sustainable employment opportunities whilst supporting young people.

We are thrilled to be working with new businesses across a variety of sectors and have secured new partnerships with like-minded organisations.

In 2021 we will be back at Skills London with the largest stand at ExCel where we will launch ‘Hospitality World’ to promote the hospitality sector and the multitude of opportunities available to young people, we want to highlight how brilliant this sector is and the variety of careers it offers.

We recognise how vital it is to inspire and inform young people at an early age to help them make decisions about their future, so we will be engaging with more schools in 2021 supporting them through ‘meaningful encounters’ as outlined in the Gatsby benchmarks and promoting apprenticeships as a fantastic option to kickstart your career.

Many will remember The Purple Umbrella Awards as the last large event they attended before lockdown in March, and what a night it was! So, we are delighted to announce that we will be back at The Savoy next September, having secured several exciting new sponsors we cannot wait to return with a bang!

Following the success of our Superheroes Series, we will be launching series 3 early next year with new Superheroes, fresh content, and an exciting new agenda.

We encourage everyone to join us in celebrating National Apprenticeship Week this coming February, where we will shine the light on how to train, retain and achieve with apprenticeships.

A huge well done to all our apprentices who despite the pressures have continued with their learning and a big thank you to each of our business partners who have been with us on our journey so far.

Finally, as our team expands and we recruit and strengthen our workforce with new talent, we look forward to what we hope to be a bright future.

From everyone at Umbrella Training, we wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays – here’s to 2021!
